Words We Keep turns original handwriting into a softly illuminated layered paper keepsake. A handwritten note, signature, recipe excerpt, child’s writing, or meaningful line can become part of a piece designed to be seen and remembered in everyday life.
How It Works
- Upload one to three clear photographs or scans of the original handwriting.
- Tell us which words or portion of the handwriting should be used.
- Type an exact transcription so we can verify every letter.
- Add an optional printed caption, date, and background preference.
- We review the submitted materials and contact you by email if anything needs clarification.
- The handwriting is adapted into a personalized layered paper light box.

What Can Be Preserved
The standard order can be created from:

The standard design includes one handwriting source and up to 30 English words.
Long letters, complete recipes, multiple handwriting sources, or highly detailed compositions require confirmation before ordering.

The original handwriting must be supplied by the customer.
We do not create new sentences in another person’s handwriting or reproduce handwriting from legal, financial, identity, medical, or official documents.
Handwriting Image Guidelines
Upload one to three clear photographs or scans.
For the clearest result:
- Place the paper on a flat surface
- Photograph it directly from above
- Use bright, even lighting
- Keep the full handwriting in focus
- Avoid shadows across the writing
- Avoid strong filters
- Avoid angled or distorted photographs
- Do not crop important letters or signatures
If the handwriting appears on lined, stained, folded, or aged paper, it can still be submitted. Use the Important Details to Preserve field to tell us which marks, spacing, or imperfections should remain.
The typed transcription is used only to verify the submitted handwriting. It does not replace the original writing.
How the Handwriting Is Adapted
Original handwriting is translated into a physical layered paper composition.
Very thin strokes may be slightly thickened, and tiny gaps, overlapping letters, punctuation, or fragile details may be simplified so the design remains clear and structurally stable.
Spacing and positioning may be adjusted to suit the horizontal light box format.
The finished piece preserves the recognizable character of the submitted handwriting, but it is an artistic interpretation rather than an exact photographic reproduction.

The rechargeable design allows the light box to be displayed without remaining connected to a wall outlet.

Design and Production
This item is individually made to order from the handwriting and information submitted.
A digital design preview is not included with the standard order.
If the handwriting is unclear, the transcription does not match, or the request exceeds the standard customization range, we will contact you using the email address associated with your order.
Production begins after we receive complete and usable materials. Processing time may vary according to the handwriting, image quality, and composition complexity.
Shipping time is additional and varies by destination and delivery method.
Personalized Order Policy
Because this product is created specifically from your submitted handwriting and personal information, it cannot be cancelled or returned for a change of mind once production has begun.
If the item arrives damaged, defective, or contains a production error that differs from the information submitted with the order, contact us within 7 days of delivery.
